The first time I saw an advertisement for a car parts shop in Sydney I was taken aback.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
I asked my wife.
“You’re buying car parts?” she asked.
I thought she was being a bit silly.
After all, I’m not a big car enthusiast.
I bought a pair of old VWs a few years ago and I can’t recall the last time I went for a fresh set of wheels.
“Don’t ask me why I don’t drive them,” I said.
In Australia, car parts are a huge industry and they’re very popular with Australians.
I visited Melbourne’s CBD and it was a real surprise to see that there are so many shops selling parts.
For example, I went to a car-parts shop in Brisbane, and a man handed me a spare front wheel that had been badly mended.
“It’s an old set of front wheels,” he said.
“There’s nothing wrong with it.”
He explained to me that the parts had been sent to a Chinese car dealer who had done a good job on them.
He gave me a little pamphlet that explained what was going on, including a list of warranty details and the warranty period.
I took a look at the brochure and it had a nice picture of the original wheels with the brand name stamped on them, and the word “Made in Australia”.
I was shocked.
“We sell parts in China,” he explained.
“That’s why we’re here.”
But he went on to say that there were “many parts that are not made in Australia”, which he blamed on the fact that “the majority of parts are not in good condition”.
The brochure explained that “most parts are made in other countries”.
“We do sell some parts that we’re very proud of,” he added.
The Australian Motor Industry Association says that only 2 per cent of car parts sold in Australia are made overseas.
But the industry is not as big as it once was.
There are still thousands of shops in Australia that make parts for cars and trucks.
Some of these are big companies like Ford and Volvo that make big parts and sell them to the car industry, but many small shops make little parts and don’t make the big parts.
In the 1980s, the car-part industry was booming, with new products being introduced all the time.
Many car makers would start by creating products and then sell them overseas to make a profit.
That made a lot of profit, but not enough to make the shops large enough to keep up with demand.
The car industry was also starting to look at other ways of getting more money from the consumer.
The government was helping the car makers by setting up the National Automotive Investment Fund, which would give them a share of the profits.
The fund was also helping the industry with other tax breaks, like the “social tax” on certain types of vehicles.
But eventually the money dried up, and most of the car parts shops closed down.
I found a couple of car-shop owners in Melbourne that were still making the same type of products as they used to.
“The people that make the parts are the ones that make money,” one of them told me.
“They don’t have to worry about the money.
If they get it right, they’ll be making a lot more money than they did 10 or 15 years ago.”
So, if you’re looking to buy a car or a truck parts in Sydney, be aware of the “Australian car” industry.
It may not be as big or as big, but it is still there and it’s still making money.
It’s a thriving industry and it has the potential to make Australians happy.
It has the people to work with and the expertise.
It offers a great experience for people who want to have a new car or truck and who want it made in the country.
But if you want to see a car that you’re interested in, you might want to take a look for yourself.
